Having completed a degree in Art History at the University of St Andrews, Alexandra began her career working for a number of event companies including The Olympia Fine Art and Antiques Fairs. She was presented the with the amazing opportunity to work for David Bentheim, one of House and Garden’s ‘leading 100 designers’ who she worked with for many years and still has a close relationship with to this day.
Based in the Suffolk town of Aldeburgh, Alexandra works on both residential and commercial projects and places great importance on understanding and interpreting how a client would like to use their space, which is the starting point of every design.
Alexandra’s design philosophy centres on the idea that we never own a building. We are guardians doing our best to look after it until we hand it on to the next generation. Alexandra is there to hold your hand through the entire journey and to inspire you to be brave in creating something that is truly fitting for your home.
Her interior design method is centred around creating a meaningful story in a considered way. She knows when and where to keep things simple and how to harness the beauty and meaning that exists in unearthing hidden treasures and coupling them with beautiful fabrics, wallpaper or accessories to bring old and new together.
Alexandra is always full of energy and a joy to work with. She wants you to have a home you’ll love and works hard to understand your taste, while knowing when to challenge you to try new ideas that will look amazing.
Alexandra is charming, empathetic and sensitive to her client’s needs. Her go-to attitude, and flexible approach meant that the original interior design brief seamlessly extended to project management and she was an invaluable help to our team of builders, electricians and decorators in helping us achieve the design we desired. The result was a project completed to a very high standard and, such was her forward-planning, and organisational skills, it was fully furnished as soon as we were ready to move in. We look forward to working with her again.
